🕷️ -- This is what happens when I don’t illustrate for an extended period of time...

The craving to create builds up until breaking point – and end up binge painting on a 4 hour stretch.
Fan Art isn’t normally something I do too much, and probably don’t do enough – because I actually find it incredibly fun just to unwind and draw up the characters I grew up with.
I also like giving them my own spin, not in a huge way, just enough to add a little bit of me into their design. And that’s what I’ve tried to do here with the eyes, his larger webbing and the general creepy mood of the piece.
Although, in the end, he still wound up looking like the classic Spidey we all know and love.
Truthfully I wanted to do something quick, so that I could use the voice over I’ll ultimately do for this recording as a warm up for the narration I still need to wrap up on for E’s Character Creator Course.
Getting my speaking abilities on point is a key focus of mine right now – and it’s been a great challenge!
Now… I’m not a huge Spidey Fan. But I figured the new Amazing Spiderman movie is coming out soon, and I’ve got a couple-o-buddies of mine who are hangin’ out to see it.
So this is a treat for all ya’ll Spiderman fans out there!
I’ll be uploading the narrated time-lapse for this piece to Digital Painting/Concept Art channel later this week: www.youtube.com/user/claytonbarton – been a while since I’ve put anything out on there.
So keep an eye out for that!
Enjoy,
-Clayton
Looks great! Nice work!
That your art is really amazing, isnt a secret. You are a full time artist and teacher, but I have to say that I really enjoyed the drawing tutorial of this artwork- good narrated and a lot of good information...I hope, some days I can improve my artworks to a quality like this. A lot of work, but I enjoy it the most of the time.
Thanks guys - appreciate the kind words. This was a fun piece to whip up, and a great way to wind down and relax for a few hours.
This is Amazing!!
